Two floors of a brick walk-up joined into one apartment, with a new stair at the centre and daylight pulled through the whole plan.
The existing rooms were small and dark. We removed the hall walls, placed a steel-and-oak stair where the light falls, and let the kitchen, dining and sitting rooms share one long space.
