Lincoln Park Greystone

An 1890s greystone that had been divided into apartments, returned to a single family home without erasing the century it spent as something else.

We kept the original stair, the plaster crown in the front parlor and every salvageable pocket door, then rebuilt the back half of the house around a kitchen that opens to the garden. The palette came from the stone itself — warm grey, biscuit, ochre — with walnut millwork and unlacquered brass left to darken on their own.

Furnishings mix commissioned upholstery with vintage sourced over eighteen months: a Danish oak dining table, a pair of 1970s travertine lamps, and rugs the owners carried back from their own travels.
